Hit the trails and ride.

As much fun as riding can be, dealing with traffic can take a lot of that fun away. It can be downright dangerous for kids, and even adults, to ride in some places. Luckily, in the last few decades, there has been a surge in bike trail construction – giving families miles and miles of car-free riding room.

Trail riding and riding on bike paths lets people get back to what makes riding fun: going at your own pace, seeing things from a new perspective and leaving your worries (or parents) behind. Plus, rail trails (bike trails built from abandoned or retired railroad passages) have the added benefit of being relatively flat – because trains can’t go up the kinds of hills that cars can.

The links below are just some of the places on the internet where you can find maps and information about bike trails in your area.
