The long-awaited Huffy Primus Pro BMX Race Frame is now available.
The Primus marks Huffy's second professional-tier frame release since returning to competitive BMX in 2024.
The Development Process
The Primus is the result of more than 18 months of development with direct input from Huffy BMX Factory Team racers.
Three different prototypes were raced on the national stage, with the race team competing on final production frames at the 2026 Legacy Nationals in May.
Huffy’s First Pro Race Frame in 20 Years
While last year’s Sledgehammer Pro Frame focused on freestyle, the Primus is a dedicated race frame designed for the national and Olympic level.

Primus Results on the Track
Developed with direct feedback from Huffy’s Race Team, the Primus has already proven itself on the track.
The Primus has earned podium results with:
- Two-time Olympian Nic Long winning the 2025 USABMX Grand Nationals
- Carly Kane winning a silver medal at the USAC National Championships
- Ethan Popovich earning his first Elite Men podium during his rookie season at the 2026 Music City Nationals
Primus Spec Highlights
The Primus is constructed from 6061 aluminum, T6-treated for strength and rigidity, and hydroformed for performance.
It features a patent-pending captive external cable routing system that delivers the clean look of internal routing with easier maintenance.
Additional technical features include toolless integrated chain tensioners, a tapered 1-1/8" to 1.5" head tube, and a T47 bottom bracket to maximize stiffness while supporting future-proof crank options.
